Frans Alkemade, a photographer since the age of 15, has created a diverse portfolio of work in black and white and color prints with an emphasis on portraiture, landscape and architectural photography. Frans continues to travel and capture images from various areas around the world. Most recently he traveled through India, Thailand, Burma, Laos and Cambodia.
A native of the Netherlands, Frans immigrated to the United States in 1964. He worked in a graduate research laboratory at Stanford University until he retired and moved to the Pacific Northwest. Now a resident of Southern California, Frans is an active contributor to several photography clubs. He is frequently invited to judge photographic competitions. He also judged 8 International PSA photo salons.
Frans has won numerous national and international photographic awards.
